Community Involvement: A Cordial Invitation
Dear Community and Business Members:
Neighbors’ Consejo has decided to take a more proactive measure to help our neighbors in need. We are excited to launch Reaching Out for New Beginnings Initiative 2008-2009.
The name aroused from the fact that many of you in the community worked together with Neighbors' Consejo to reach out to individuals that become homeless in a few minutes. The living proof was the excellent outreach (donations of cloths, food, money, etc), case management and counseling services that were conducted during the period after the fire.
As you probably know that many of the fire victims needed additional help from Neighbors’ Consejo. Therefore, we need to fundraise additional funds to increase the social services to truly make a difference among the 200 families that became homeless within hours.
"Reaching Out for New Beginnings” Initiative will have its first kick-off event, Get to Know Your Neighbors Gala that will be help April 16, 2008. The gala supports Neighbors' Consejo's mission. Neighbors' Consejo is a nonprofit based organization in DC whose mission is to help the most vulnerable members of the Latino community. Many other events will be held during the years Sponsorship.
