From Crisis to Stability
Most people who come to us have several problems for which they are seeking help. To overcome these problems, they need various kinds of crisis assistance.
Traditionally, access to the help these people needs is scattered throughout multiple service providers who do not have the capacity or personnel to address all their issues.
Neighbors' Consejo aims to solve this by acting as a single point of entry to a full range of direct supportive services- providing a continuum of care that takes our clients from crisis to stability. This means that we work with a large network of service providers, including organizations such as La Casa Shelter, Change Inc., CARECEN, AYUDA, Christ House, Upper Cardozo Clinic, La Clinica de Pueblo, Mary's Center, Project WISH, Washington Free Clinic, Samaritan Inns, Meridian Hill Baptist Church, Spanish Catholic Charities, and others. As the only homeless organization in DC with full bilingual capacity, homeless clients are referred to us by these agencies, government entities and concerned residents who do not have the capacity to address certain needs.
This model has enabled Neighbors' Consejo to become a primary gateway to crisis intervention and supportive services for Latino homeless and at-risk families in Washington, D.C.
We are the only Latino-serving agency focused on the homeless and at-risk population that affords clients immediate walk-in access to a full range of social services and comprehensive case management.
