Hypothermia

Picture
Warm Hearts. Warming Others.

The winters in Washington, D.C. are very cold and wet. To help the homeless, Neighbors' Consejo's outreach team takes to the streets and alleys of Mt. Pleasant, Columbia Heights, and Adams Morgan to provide hundreds of blankets and establish relationships with homeless individuals. One of every three homeless individuals accepts transportation in our Neighbors' Consejo van to nearby hypothermia shelter facilities.

Goal
Neighbors' Consejo's Hypothermia Outreach Program's goal is to provide 500 blankets for men and women living in the streets.

Partnerships
Neighbors' Consejo works in partnership with Meridian Hill Baptist Church, Sacred Heart Church, and La Casa Shelter to prevent hypothermia among the D.C. homeless population.

Funding Source
The Hypothermia Outreach Program is funded by the D.C. Department of Human Services and the Community Partnerships for the Prevention of Homelessness.

The Need
Blankets, clothes, food, and donations are essential, so that we can more effectively reach out to individuals. Your gift will make an immediate difference!
