Neighbors’ Consejo provides culturally and linguistically competent healthcare, social, and support services for the most needy in our community - those underserved and uninsured. We strive to empower them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society.
We welcome all contributions to help continue fulfilling our mission: the reintegration of mentally ill and dual diagnosed individuals into society as functional people.
Neighbors’ Consejo is a non-profit community-based organization that for 22 years has focused on serving our neighbors in their language of comfort and with the cultural understanding they need and deserve.
While our doors are open to all residents of the District of Columbia, our neighbors are primarily Spanish speakers who have very limited or no command of English. We’re very proud to help all who are diagnosed with a substance abuse or mental health condition, including co-occurring disorders, both in our outpatient clinic and our residential facilities.
We offer all our services at no cost to the recipients. We rely solely on donations from caring individuals and grants from government agencies and foundations.
